Fever does it again

Taylor played in another tournament, local this time, and they won.    Taylor had a great weekend, and her hitting was on fire, with several singles, a double, triple and a couple great sacrafice bunts.   She had two hit the fence, next time they will be over, I have all the confidence in her!!    Hopefully Tad will get to see her play.  He was out of town for this tournament.

Applauding the other team getting their second place awards.
 Great job Taylor!
 Great job Fever!!

Softball in San Diego

Taylor is now on Fever Gold and their first tournament was in San Diego.  I was so glad we weren't playing in a local tournament since the temperatures are still 107 plus.   San Diego on the other hand was 76 for high.

Friday morning we headed to Sea World and spent the day there.  We hadn't been in over 5 years so it was fun to see the shows and all the sea life.  It was a beautiful day.

The tournament started Saturday night for pool play and they played 3 games and won all three.  Sunday was the tournament and we played the first two games and won and had a 2 game break.   The team we played next came back from the losers bracket.    In the 7th inning we were down by two.   We have two on with one out.  Tori Pogue (a good friend of Taylors) was up and I was praying she got a hit otherwise there would be two outs and Taylor would be up.  No such luck.. Taylor is up and I am so nervous for her.  If we lose we play the team again.   Taylor gets a great double and we score two, now were tied.   The team goes into the 8th inning with international rules where the last girl out starts on second base.  Taylor is pitching and strikes out two and the other hits it to Molly (second baseman).   Three outs and were up.   We have our girl on second base and the first batter up hits a great hit and we score.   It was a very exciting first tournament with this team and we are looking forward to a great season.

Monday morning we weren't in any hurry to get home to the heat so we met our friends at the beach and then got pizza and went to the park to eat it.    We love hanging out with the Lees!!   We did miss Tatum and Tad.   Tatum couldn't miss school Friday or practice on Monday since she has a meet on Tuesday.

Intersquad Dive Meet

Today after school Tatum had her first dive meet.  It was just an inter squad meet amongst the team but it was the very first meet for her and for us as well.   Tatum has never done dive until school started, so with only 2 1/2 weeks of practice she did great!

So proud of you Tatum for trying something new.   You have done so well in 3 weeks, can't wait to see where your at by the end of the season!!

First day of school

Once again summer has come and gone, don't know where it went.  We were so busy that it flew by and now the girls started there first day.  Tori is the only one left at the grade school.   She is now in Jr. High.  Tatum is now a freshmen at Sunrise Mountain and Taylor a upper classman is a junior.   Taylor gets to drive to school this year and she had a car load taking her sister, cousin and friend.    They all had a great first day!!

World Series in Reno

Our family packed up and drove 14 hour to Reno to watch Tori play in the TCS 12U World Series.     We had a great time with great friends that we have made over the past year.

The week started off a team challenge where each team had a thowing contest, hitting, and pitching.  The girls had fun at this.  Then we headed to opening ceremonies.... each team was introduced and march around the arena in some sort of costume.  Our girls, The Lil Saints, wore their red team shirt, bedazzled flip flops, sun glasses, beads a halo and wings.  They won best costume!!  We ended the evening with a team dinner back at the team hotel.

Pool play was on Tuesday and Wednesday and the tournament began on Thursday.    The girls had a few really good games and they had a couple games where they couldn't get it together as a team.   They didn't make it into the final day to play.     We had a great week though... team dinners on the deck, kids running around, adults playing baggo and enjoying beverages, a little bit of gambling at the casinos.  Taylor and Tatum were a hit with all the siblings of the players.   They are ages 4 - 8 and Taylor and Tatum kept them entertained during games and after.  They played many games of red rover, dodge ball and kick ball.

Its a bitter sweet ending to a great year of ball.   The girls all have tryouts and will most likely be all separated which is sad since these girls were a great group of kids.

Tori Jo you had a great season with the Lil Saints... you grew so much as a player and now its time to move up where you will grow and learn so much more as a softball player.
