Big Girl Little Girl Sleep Over

Last night Tori and I went to a big girl little girl sleepover. It was at Toris friend Alissa's house and she had 9 friends over and their moms. We were told to wear our pajamas and bring a snack and drinks of choice. We had a great time... there was lots and lots of food, we had margaritas and the girls had virgin ones. We played some games and danced and ate some more and then went and teepeed. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves. Tori and I are very tired today and now she is asking me when we can have one of these sleepovers at our house ;))

Softball weekend

Saturday Taylor had her first tournament with her new team, The Lil' Saints. They played 3 pool games on Saturday, 2:00, 3:30 at 5:00.... They won all 3 games and didn't have any runs against them... they did a great job. When her game was over we raced over to where Tori Jo was playing her first games of the fall season. She won her first game but lost the second game. She played really well, especially since this is her first game of minors ball, she can now steal home and run on the 3rd strike if the ball is dropped and she has also learned to slide. No more slow boring games, she has officially moved up and playing with the big girls :))
Sunday back to Taylors tournament. The first game she pitched and they pretty much dominated that game. The second game the same, but the last two games were very exciting. The third game went into 2 extra innings and Taylor pitched and held it together. I don't know how she does it, she doesn't get under pressure at all, or at least just doesn't show it. The championship game was against Scottsdale Fever and we played them our first pool game on Saturday and won 3-0. They were winning 9 to 2 in the 5th inning and we scored 4 runs. Fever is home team and they are up to bat with only 7 minutes left of the game. Our coach tells the umpire no warm ups and we start the inning... we get them out and we are up to bat and while batting time runs and so this is our last at bats. We score 5 runs and are up by 2. They bat and they have 2 on with one out and girl hits a hard high ball to center field she catches it and throws it to second where the girl had ran and we got a double play. It was another exciting game and very very late. That game started 2 hours late therefore we werent' home until 10:00 pm. It was a long day but very worth it. Taylor had and great first tournament with her new team and we are excited to play again soon.
Tatum was a trooper and hung with us all weekend in the heat. She starts her meets soon and are very excited to see her in her sport!

Labor Day Camping.....

We left Friday at 5:30 am to head up north to our favorite camping spot at Hutch Mountain. We met our friends the Lees at Verde Valley and then drove the rest of the way with them. We were in our favorite spot up there... surprise it didn't all ready have campers in it... there were lots of people and nobody took OUR SPOT. We were all unloaded and ready for FUN by 9:00 am. Friday was a great sunny day, with lots of ranger rides and card playing of course. Saturday we went and got lots of wood and as soon as we got it all piled in the truck it started raining.... the ranger decided to stop running and we were soaked by the time we putted back to camp. I rained for 3 or 4 hours and really hard at times. It was so nice to see and smell the rain of the cool forest. We got lots of game playing in :))
It quit raining by 3:00 and we built a huge bon fire that burned until we all went to bed (I think we burned all the firewood we had gotten that morning. Sunday was a clear beautiful day, but our ranger wasn't working so No rides for the Nowlins. The Lees went on a nice long ride. We played some horseshoes and then got out the pitching machine and hit fly balls for all the girls. We had a great weekend and sad to see it end... now it will be back to busy time with Tatums gym meets approaching and Taylor and Tori back into Softball again. :)
