Fourth of July Camping Trip

We headed up north to our favorite camping spot at Hutch Mountain. It was so cool up there... was hoping for some rain but that didn't happen :( It was still great just getting out of the 110 + heat down in Phoenix. We always have so much fun with our friends the Lees. The girls just keep themselves entertained all day long. The only down fall to the trip were NO FIRES! The girls were bummed without sitting around the campfire playing all the campfire games and the smores. They seemed to keep themselves busy at night playing other games and going on night ranger rides with the dads... too cold for me. On Sunday we went into Mormon Lake to watch their annual 4th of July Parade... we have been camping at Hutch for over 15 years and had no idea they had a parade and fireworks every year. No fireworks this year on the account of the fires in Flagstaff 8( Monday we played washer tournaments and I think we did this 3 times.. picking new partners each time. It is always a fun time and the kids are so competitive hoping they get a good partner 8). We left after dinner Monday night... although we did have a blowout on the trailer... luckily we were only about 10 miles from home and it didn't cause any damage, except replacing the shredded tire.

Weekend of Softball

Tori's team started the AGS tournaments on thursday night and played again Friday night and then again 3 games on Saturday night. Taylor played in a qualifiier on Saturday and Sunday. Luckily the fields were just a few miles from each other. :)
On Monday AGS had their closing ceremonies and ice cream social. It was a good season and now get a break from Tori playing until Fall.

Taylors team won the tournament and they qualify for Nationals in Moline, Illinois in August.

Wisdom Teeth

Taylor had to get all four of her wisdom teeth pulled on Wednesday. I had to wake her up at 6:30 to eat breakfast. She wasn't allowed to eat after 7:00 am since her surgery was at 3:00 that afternoon. Of course she wasn't that hungry when she woke up but 2 to 3 hours later she was starving :/ I had to give her xanax 1 hour before to relax her.... Only after 30 minutes she was buzzing and was silly. I had to help her out of the truck when we got to the Dr. office. She didn't even remember getting her IV or me leaving the room.. LOL!! After her surgery she kept wanting to take her lip out of her mouth.... she thought it was the gauze. Well she did great all night long and woke up looking like Chip. She was very frustrated because she couldn't eat for several days. I think 4 days later she finally ate a cheeseburger but she had to smash it flat as a pancake to get it in her mouth. Well she is glad that is over with and now has the rest of the summer to have FUN!!!

Dance and Softball

Tatum had her dance recital this weekend while Taylor and I were in Colorado. I am so bummed that I missed it :( She did a great job on all 3 of her dances. After the recital they had a dinner and awards ceremony. Tatum received "Hardest Worker" award. I am so proud of her. Tad was video taping the dance and so was unable to get pictures.

Taylor had her tourny is Colorado and they won 2 of the 3 games on Saturday and won 1 and lost 1 on Sunday. It was so beautiful with great weather. They didn't qualify for nationals but we have many more chances.

Graduations

For the next 3 years we will have a graduation to attend from Frontier and the next 7 years one from Sunrise Mountain High School. This year Cody graduated from 8th grade and Brittney graduated from Sunrise Mountain. After Codys graduation we all went back to the Hills for food and some fun. On Thursday was Brittneys turn. Unfortunately Taylor and I were in Colorado for a softball tournament and Tori Jo was home sick with a 102 fever. Tatum went with Grandma and Papa to the ceremony and then Tad went for some cake afterwards at the Olsons house.

State Championship

Taylor was pulled up for the State Finals for softball. She didn't get to play but it was a great experience for her and a great way to end the season. She played great and pitched outstanding during her JV season and being with the varsity team was a very fun time for her. They won the semi final game in a nail biting game where we were down until the final minute of the game. Saturday night was a different story and they lost to Cienega.

School awards and concerts

The girls all had something this week at school in the evening for either an awards ceremony or a choir concert. Luckily nothing landed on the same day. Monday night Taylor had her softball banquet, Tuesday night Tatum had her sports banquet and Wednesday night was the choir concert. They were all very enjoyable and a great way to end the school year. We are so very proud of all three girls for all they do.
